Course Director Retires

10 March 2023
Paul Drinkwater – Course Directors Retires from UKOMA

Today saw the conclusion of our latest Operations Officer Course, and another hugely successful course it was with 20 students attending the week long residential programme.

Paul has dedicated around 30 years of service to UKOMA and latterly for many years has been our Course Director. This is no small task, co-ordinating all aspects of the course from lecturers, catering, venues and hotels. We are so grateful for all the hard work that Paul committed to these courses, they have always run to the highest standard and been greatly attended, including by the UK Civil Aviation Authority!

Paul has spent many years in aviation, starting as a Senior Business Travel Consultant in 1975, joining Fly BMI as Airline Operations Manager in 1979, in a role he undertook until late 2012 when he moved to the MetOffice as Aviation Business Development Manager where he stayed for 5 years, leaving in 2018. During the period September 1998 – November 2012, Paul served as UKOMA Chair.

At the course night out on Thursday, Paul was presented with a aeroplane style Whiskey decanter as a mark of our appreciation, by Lance Walford, UKOMA Chair.

From all the UKOMA Committee and Membership, we wish you a well deserved rest and enjoyable retirement.
